PhilHealth Run 2013: A Gathering of Fun Run Enthusiasts
Ten days to go!
And we will be making history for the protection of mothers and children with the PhilHealth Run 2013.
As the event draws near, lot of stories have been gathered as the PRO IVA run committee travelled around the region encouraging people to register for the run. Even running events have been maximized to get more runners involved in this nationwide event.
In Caliraya, the fun run team has found allies in the crowd of runners present for the Caliraya Uphill Sunset Challenge Run 2013. As booth was set-up for registration, runners immediately crowded the area with questions about the fun run. This just shows how people are turning into fun run buffs as they recognize the benefits of running.
Only few have registered that day; more are already registered on-line.
The same positive response was given by the locators, employees and even the uniformed personnel during visits in industrial zones and the Camp Vicente Lim in Laguna. In Laguna Technopark Inc. (LTI) and the Light Industry Science Park (LISP), supports of the industrial parks associations and managements have led locators to the on-site registration venues. Set-off by the Memorandum of support to the run issued by the LTI and LISP locators association’s management team, company representatives flocked the sites with their respective lists of runners to register, pay and receive their race kits.
During these on-site registrations, it was truly inspiring to see families joining the queues for the PhilHealth Run 2013. Some of them, the team was delighted to talk with. One of them is the Burgos Family headed by Mang Ernesto with his wife, Aling Ligaya. In their early fifties, Mang Ernesto is still all set to run with the younger crowd and even encourages his son to join running events being an enthusiast himself. His 17-year old son, Jernie had finished the 14K race in the Caliraya Uphill Sunset Challenge. Mang Ernesto, Aling Ligaya, Jernie and Stephen Lawrence, Mang Ernesto’s 8-year old grandson, are running with the PhilHealth Community for the welfare of abused and abandoned children of HOPE worldwide Philippines.
Run with us on February 17, 2013 at the Greenfield City, Sta. Rosa, Laguna! Join us as we set a nationwide- simultaneous run record with the PhilHealth Run 2013.
